Why Consider a Fan-less CPU Computer?

Many of VarTech’s new products are manufactured with fan-less motherboards. There are quite a few benefits of a fan-less motherboard design in an industrial environment. The most relevant one is zero dust intake. Eliminating dust intake increases reliability and allows for silent operation. A regular fan cooled system pulls air into the computer which in a dust prone area can lead to fan failure due to dust build-up. If that happens the CPU fan will have to be replaced. The likelihood of even greater damage is very high if this happens because the components the fan is designed to protect can overheat and fail as well. Aside from failure due to dust intake, a processor fan is just another moving part and can fail from normal wear and tear or defects. Fan failure is a common occurrence in all computers but in a mission critical production environment it can be very costly. Silent operation is a benefit for any computer operator but may be essential in areas such as hospitals, recording studios, or libraries. I know I’d enjoy silent operation having had plenty of noisy CPU fans myself which prompt me to kick my PC tower.

VarTech offers fan-less small form factor computers, fan-less panel PCs, and fan-less computer workstations.
